Master Plan
In an effort to provide a comprehensive plan to accommodate the expected growth and needs of Macomb County, a 25-Year Master Plan has been instituted. This Master Plan includes expected growth statistics and traffic data and recommends improvements necessary to provide a safe, convenient roadway system to the residents and visitors of Macomb County.

26 Mile Road Enviromental Assessment
As part of a preliminary investigation into the possibility of transforming 26 Mile Road into a main thoroughfare running through Macomb County, an environmental assessment has been performed.
This assessment involved a lengthy process to determine exactly what is needed to see this construction project through to completion. There are many issues involving environmental and historical preservation, noise issues, right of way costs and construction costs.
The beginning phase of this project is scheduled for the 2007-2008 construction season with widening of 26 Mile Road to a six lane boulevard between Old Van Dyke and M-53 expressway.
